THE OFFICIAL BADGES & IDs POST

ABOUT
For the purposes of fun (and plot, yay plot!), badges have been created for Ministry employees and St. Mungo's employees, Press passes for media personnel, and ID cards for all wizarding citizens.

This post is the official one to not only find your character(s)'s badge, press pass, and/or ID card, but also to find the information about each and to request ones if you need to.

Generally, if the character is looking off to the side, that's because that was the picture that was available. Assume that the character is actually looking at the camera. This is RP, we're supposed to be able to use our imaginations.

***Feel free to hotlink your character's badge or ID card if you're going to post it in your character's information; that way it will automatically update if any changes are made. They're all uploaded to my personal webspace, which has much more bandwidth than photobucket does.

ID CARDS
On 5 November, 1979, legislation was passed to require that every of-age (17+) wizarding citizen, as well as every known dark creature (hag, vampire, werewolf; regardless of age), would be required to carry on them at all times a new government-issued ID. Throughout the month of November, all of-age wizarding citizens and dark creatures were required to report to the Ministry of Magic to pick up their ID (Ministry representatives were dispatched to Hogwarts to provide IDs for of-age students). Beginning 1 December, 1979, citizens can be arrested & fined for not having their ID on them.

As for the date issued:
- DARK CREATURES must have reported to the Ministry between NOVEMBER 9 and NOVEMBER 13 during normal business hours (alternative arrangements were made for vampires who owled back)
- HUMANS must have reported to the Ministry between NOVEMBER 16 and NOVEMBER 30 during normal business hours MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY (November 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 30)
- How it went down:

Your character came in to the Ministry; (s)he was sent down to the courtrooms (empty ones were used)
After waiting in line, (s)he sat down with a Ministry representative to fill in and sign their IDs (for dark creatures, their registry file was magically retrieved, instead of having to waste the time running back and forth for them)

Regarding fonts, it is perfectly fine to double-up on fonts, because this is not a font-based game.

Things we know that the characters don't:
- It is possible to be tracked by your ID.
- IDs may be "flagged" for Official Persons of Interest.
- The IDs were designed by Wolfie.

MINISTRY BADGES
Every Ministry employee, from the Minister all the way down to the lowliest coffee-fetching intern, wears their badge when at work. It features their picture, name, department, job title, and a personalised barcode. Embedded in the barcode is their security level clearance.

If a Ministry employee needs to be called in for whatever reason, their badge will light up and "ring." The barcode allows for this kind of tracking.

HOSPITAL BADGES
Every St. Mungo's employee also wears their badge at work. It features their picture, name, job title, floor, and a personalised barcode.

If any St. Mungo's employee must be called in for whatever reason, their badge will light up and "ring." The barcode allows for this kind of tracking.

PRESS PASSES
Every member of the media is issued a press pass, to allow them access to press conferences. There is nothing altogether special about the press passes, they simply list the holder's name and publication, along with their picture.
